Brunson comes to the cage accompanied by Flinstones Theme Song. Road has chosen For Heavy Metal we will die! as his entrance music. Raate Road has the better chin. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Road lands a nice shot that snaps Brunson's head back.
Road scores with a leg kick.

Road fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Brunson, pushing him back against the cage.
Road gets underhooks to prevent Brunson's takedown attempt.
Road lands an uppercut.
Road lands with a light punch inside.
Brunson tries to score a body lock takedown but Road shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Brunson missing with knees to the body.
Brunson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Road after a bit of a struggle.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Road has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Road pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Brunson will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Road up against the cage.

Road stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Brunson is looking to control Road's arms but Road gets an underhook and turns him. Now Brunson has his back to the cage.

Brunson wants to break the clinch but can't.
Brunson tries to throw a body punch but Road avoids it by throwing Brunson back against the cage.

Road lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Brunson goes for a takedown in the clinch but Road prevents it.

Road blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Road lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Brunson backwards.

Road scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Road lands a left and a right that send Brunson crashing to the mat, dazed. Road thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Brunson is rocked!

Road pushes Brunson up against the cage in a clinch.
Oh Brunson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Road breaks from the clinch.
A chopping leg kick lands by Road.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Road connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Brunson seems to have got his legs back now.

Road has closed the distance and engaged Brunson in a clinch.
Brunson jumps guard but Road turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Brunson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Road can't fight it off and eventually Brunson manages to take the fight to the floor. Road looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Brunson working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Road's head.

Brunson throwing strikes from guard but Road blocks nicely.
Road pulls Brunson in close to his closed guard and prevents Brunson from doing any damage or advancing position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Road's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brunson wants to control from the top but Road keeps moving.
Road seems keen to control Brunson's posture.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Raate Road dominated that round.
That's time! Brunson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Road tests Brunson's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Brunson takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Brunson walks into a jab.
Road moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Road has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brunson needs to keep his hands up - Road had a free shot at his head there.
Road circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Brunson to the canvas! Brunson doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Road keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

A less than humble Raate Road misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
