Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Man Danasoiu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Franz Nicholas! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nicholas stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Nicholas wants it to stay on the feet. Danasoiu gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Nicholas counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Danasoiu on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Danasoiu shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Nicholas counters with a left to the body. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Man Danasoiu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Danasoiu drives through with a takedown into guard. Danasoiu works a leg free and moves into half guard. Danasoiu misses with a head shot. Nicholas uses the momentum to regain guard. Nicholas keeping full guard, as Danasoiu tries to pass. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Danasoiu sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Nicholas's guard. Danasoiu keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Danasoiu looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Danasoiu is working hard here to advance position. Danasoiu is stalling here. Nicholas is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Danasoiu seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Nicholas has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Danasoiu is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Nicholas off and has taken his back! Danasoiu misses with punches from the back. Danasoiu throwing sloppy strikes. Danasoiu has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Danasoiu is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Nicholas has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Nicholas looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Danasoiu biding his time, looking for the opening.
Danasoiu's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

We've been hearing good reports from Danasoiu's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Redd throws a looping overhand right but Parks ducks down to avoid it. Parks looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Redd closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Parks's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Parks is adopting a defensive guard. Parks avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Parks wants to stand and escape but Redd is having none of it. Redd trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Parks has Redd pulled in close to control his posture. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Parks lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Redd connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Parks momentarily.
Redd throws a nice looking combination but Parks bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Parks is looking to counter punch. Redd connects with a body shot that sends Parks's belly button to the back. Parks avoids the body shot from Redd.
Parks lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Redd lands a really nice looking cross but Parks seems unphased.

and Redd counters with a low kick, right behind Parks 's knee. Parks rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Redd counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Parks throws a lazy right hand but Redd sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Redd scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Parks doesn't seem bothered though. Parks throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kuja uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Kuja looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Janjan moves away from the strike by Kuja. An attempted straight right counter from Janjan misses the target. Kuja tries to clinch but Janjan moves away and Janjan counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Kuja fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Janjan manages to avoid it. Janjan throws a big counter combination but Kuja scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Janjan slips a jab and a cross from Kuja.
Kuja tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A little feinted left hand from Janjan on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Kuja tests Janjan's chin there with a solid looking shot. Kuja digs a good body shot into Janjan's ribs. Kuja lets loose with a powerful body kick. Janjan will feel that in the morning. Janjan blocks a head kick by Kuja.

 That's one minute gone in the round. Kuja pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Kuja bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Janjan's head. Kuja throws a body kick that misses. Janjan went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Kuja stuns Janjan with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Kuja lands with a kick to the temple. Janjan shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Janjan gets cracked there but stands up to it.

That sent Janjan stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Nice body punch from Kuja. Janjan moves forwards but Kuja connects with a nice, crisp jab.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Donk. Anttonen catches Pearce right on the button with a cross.
It looks like Kashton Pearce has been cut. Pearce tries to close the distance and clinch up but Anttonen swats him away and circles back towards the center. Pearce looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Anttonen jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit. Pearce tests Anttonen's chin there with a solid looking shot. Pearce fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Anttonen tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Anttonen throws a hook but Pearce avoids it easily. Anttonen moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Pearce throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Pearce has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Anttonen can't find room to land a body shot as Pearce controls the action.
Pearce's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Sokolov moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Sokolov ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mendiola moves away. Mendiola connects with a body shot that sends Sokolov's belly button to the back.

Sokolov scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sokolov wants to pass to mount but Mendiola is defending the position. Mendiola avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Sokolov. Sokolov stops Mendiola from getting back to his feet.
Mendiola is not content to let Sokolov control the position. Mendiola tries to kick Sokolov off in order to stand up. Sokolov Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Sokolov thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
 The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Sokolov jabbing away but nothing is landing. Sokolov lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Sokolov ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Mendiola throws a hook but Sokolov avoids it easily. Sokolov closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mendiola circles away. A big left from Mendiola misses.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Mendiola jabs Sokolov right on the nose. Sokolov blinks but takes it well. Mendiola lands a nice looking body shot.
Mendiola walks into a straight right hand from Sokolov. Nice defenses there by Mendiola. Sokolov changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Sokolov, as that shot connected.
Mendiola gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Good standup being displayed there by Sokolov as he connects with a hook. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sokolov takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Mendiola walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Mendiola throws a right hand that Sokolov ducks under and follows up with a left that Sokolov also avoids with ease. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close fourth round but I would say that Sergei Sokolov will probably get the nod. That's time! Sokolov's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Sokolov bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. A little feinted left hand from Sokolov on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Sokolov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Sokolov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Sokolov misses with an attempted head punch from side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mendiola is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Sokolov is controlling him well.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Mendiola is looking to get back to his feet here but Sokolov is keeping cool and he's managed to take Mendiola's back. Sokolov throwing strikes and Mendiola squirms under the pressure, ending up mounted.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Sokolov trying to control but he's not successful this time. Mendiola is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
