 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mursurkaev has his takedown stuffed and Fields counters with a nice body shot. Fields lands with a cross. Mursurkaev on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Mursurkaev fails with the takedown and Fields counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Fields scores with a body shot.
Fields lands with a nice combination. Mursurkaev backs away looking to recover. Mursurkaev takes one to the chin there. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mursurkaev fails to land the takedown. Trevor Fields has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ansar Mursurkaev.

Mursurkaev shoots in for a takedown but Fields shows good takedown defense. Fields went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Horrible takedown attempt by Mursurkaev or perhaps it was just good defense by Fields, which made it look bad. Mursurkaev takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Fields throws a head kick that misses.
Mursurkaev forces Fields back against the cage and clinches. Mursurkaev's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Fields lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Fields lands with a right to the head. Fields tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Mursurkaev blocks a body shot from Fields. Mursurkaev displaying some good clinch control by pressing Fields up against the cage. I was talking to Fields's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Mursurkaev has had enough of the clinch but Fields keeps him there for the moment. Fields can't find room to land a body shot as Mursurkaev controls the action.
A short uppercut from Fields. Fields lands a left hand.
This has been an exciting period of action! Mursurkaev dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Mursurkaev changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Fields fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Fields scores with a head kick. Mursurkaev tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Fields stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Fields wants it to stay on the feet.

Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Varga can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Valanan half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Valanan fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Malone is out of range. Malone drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Valanan defends it well. A cross from Malone lands. Malone connects with a body shot. Malone drops Valanan with a straight right hand, right on the button! Malone follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Jerkmeoffmaev content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because David has locked up a guillotine! David's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Jerkmeoffmaev is holding on here and David must be using up a lot of energy. Jerkmeoffmaev has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! David gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Galvan looks to land a right hand but Burnett moved out of range. Burnett throws an overhand right that lands on Galvan's shoulder, as Galvan tries to avoid the shot. Galvan fails to land with a series of punches.
It looked like Burnett wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Galvan misses with a right hand and Galvan takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Galvan throws a looping overhand right but Burnett ducks down to avoid it. A counter left hand to the body from Burnett misses its target. Galvan doesn't manage to clinch there - Burnett circles away.
Galvan is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Galvan goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Galvan rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Burnett counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Galvan wants to clinch but Burnett slips to the side
and Burnett counters with a crisp right hand that drops Galvan! Burnett lets Galvan back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

It looks like Thomas Galvan has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Burnett fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Galvan out cold! Brutal finish!

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cardenas shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Hammond eats them both and turns towards Cardenas to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Cardenas rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hammond moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Cardenas throws a leg kick that is checked
so Hammond counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Hammond stops Cardenas from standing up. Hammond postures up in Cardenas's guard and throws a big left but Cardenas blocks it. Hammond slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Hammond in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Hammond controlling from the top position. Cardenas is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hammond throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cardenas works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

 The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Hammond shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cardenas sprawls well. Cardenas wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hammond gets slowly back to his feet.

Hammond throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Cardenas escapes and throws Hammond's legs to the side, diving into side control! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hammond wants to control but Cardenas postures up. Hammond manages to work his way to half guard, despite Cardenas's best efforts.

Hammond gets a double leg takedown into Cardenas's guard. Hammond controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Hammond is working Cardenas over with some ground and pound from side control. Cardenas is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Hammond scores with punches from side control. Hammond scores with a couple of short elbows. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cardenas is trying to escape and get back to his feet. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sloppy strikes from Hoost. Those never looked like landing. Hoost seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Hoost lands a jab to Mclovin's midsection. Mclovin walks into a jab.
It looks like Ronald Mclovin has been cut. A combination from Hoost does no damage. The fight stays on the outside here - Mclovin looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Hoost misses with a double jab.
Mclovin tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Hoost counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hoost stuns Mclovin with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Hoost cracks Mclovin with an open hand slap. Hoost feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Mclovin sprawling to the canvas! Mclovin rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Hoost finish him?!
Mclovin is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hoost moves in close and cracks Mclovin with a massive right hand! Mclovin, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Hoost!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Remy Hoost! Remy Hoost opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.

Carvalho felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Carvalho is looking to reverse the position. Carvalho can't do much from the bottom here. Carvalho sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Ariti trying to control the action but Carvalho is working from the bottom. It looks like Ariti is going to stand back up.

That's going to take a lot out of him. Carvalho shoots for a double leg takedown but Ariti sprawls well.
