The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akhalaia wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Panda needs to keep his hands up - Akhalaia had a free shot at his head there.
Panda gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Akhalaia counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Panda tries to close the distance and clinch but Akhalaia swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Akhalaia looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Panda takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Akhalaia throws a right hand that Panda ducks under and follows up with a left that Panda also avoids with ease.
Panda seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Panda takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Akhalaia moves into range and connects with a jab.
Panda swings for the body but Akhalaia moves out of range.
Panda tries to close the distance and clinch up but Akhalaia swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Panda doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Akhalaia counters with a nice uppercut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Akhalaia lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Akhalaia misses the shot to the body.
