Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Mandeville (ranked 1254 p4p, 1074 weight class) and Ricky Alvarez (ranked 65 p4p, 35 weight class). Alvarez has chosen Machine Gun Kelly - Till I Die as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 20 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ricky Alvarez! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Ryoma Takatsuka and Colin Fray.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alvarez takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
It looks like Ricky Alvarez has been cut. Alvarez scores with a hook to the body. Mandeville takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Mandeville ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Alvarez moves away. Alvarez throws a head kick but Mandeville moves out of range.
Alvarez feints and then cracks Mandeville's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Mandeville down. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Alvarez - that will leave a mark!
We've been told by Mandeville's head coaches at Steel Penn Training Den that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Alvarez tries to bum rush Mandeville with a series of wild strikes but Mandeville uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Alvarez connects with a crisp jab. Alvarez tries a head kick but it misses.
Alvarez stalks Mandeville and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Mandeville's face. Mandeville staggers backwards, shaken.

Mandeville feinted with a counter takedown. Alvarez fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Mandeville looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Alvarez cracks Mandeville with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Alvarez throws an overhand right that lands on Mandeville's shoulder, as Mandeville tries to avoid the shot. Mandeville appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Alvarez does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Mandeville was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Mandeville checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Mandeville misses with an uppercut. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Alvarez lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Mandeville has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Mandeville and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Alvarez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mandeville. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mandeville avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Jab by Alvarez. Mandeville takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Mandeville blocks a head kick by Alvarez.

Alvarez dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Mandeville. That did some damage! Ricky Alvarez seems to be getting the better of the standup. Mandeville misses with a straight left. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Alvarez lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. A head kick misses from Alvarez. Mandeville avoids a punch combination nicely.

Alvarez has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Alvarez throws a nice looking combination but Mandeville bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. It looked like Mandeville wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Alvarez throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Mandeville tries to counter with a takedown but Alvarez is quick to defend against it. Alvarez lands a nice looking body kick. Alvarez throws out a loose jab but Mandeville uses good head movement to avoid it. Alvarez misses with the body kick
and Mandeville counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mandeville. Alvarez looking for a sweep. Not yet Alvarez, not yet. Our spies down at at California Top Team inform us that Alvarez has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Alvarez controls Mandeville momentarily but Mandeville frees himself. Alvarez is controlling Mandeville's posture.

Alvarez wants to stand and escape but Mandeville is having none of it. Alvarez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Mandeville has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Alvarez to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Mandeville is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Alvarez pulls down on the head and he's put Mandeville to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Ricky Alvarez! In his post fight interview, Ricky Alvarez started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.

Pardi feints and as Furioto raises his hands in defense, Pardi changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Furioto really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Pardi looking to pass the guard. Pardi is still trying to improve position. Pardi controlling from the top position. Let's hope that Pardi has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Furioto is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Pardi looking to pass the guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Pardi engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
 The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Pardi dives in and scores a takedown into Furioto's guard. Pardi is fighting to break Furioto's control of his arms but Furioto is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Pardi wants to pass the guard but Furioto is keeping the position.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Furioto trying to control but Pardi is working from the bottom. Furioto looking to sit in guard and control but Pardi gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Furioto is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Pardi is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Miocic lands a nice hook to Molly's body. Molly takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Molly instigates a clinch. Molly keeps control of Miocic as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Molly gets in close and instigates a clinch. Molly presses Miocic against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Miocic wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Molly has him pressed against the cage. Miocic working hard to break the clinch. Miocic is trying to force a seperation but Molly has the dominant position.
