 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rooster misses with a low kick as Perez jumps back. Rooster bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Rooster takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Rooster defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Perez. Perez avoids the body shot from Rooster.
Perez moves out of range of the body kick from Rooster.
Perez shoots in and drives through. Rooster sprawls well. A leg kick checked by Perez. Rooster takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Perez darts in trying to clinch and Perez takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Donte Perez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Perez wants to clinch. Rooster throws out a leg kick but Perez moves out of range and Rooster only half commits. Perez only half commits to the counter leg kick. Rooster leaves Perez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. A head kick misses from Rooster. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Perez! But no joy. Perez is looking to clinch but Rooster is avoiding it.
Perez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rooster but Rooster pushes him off and we're back to square one. Perez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Perez fails with a takedown attempt. Perez doesn't succeed with the takedown and Rooster counters with a nice uppercut. Rooster fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Perez manages to avoid it. A head kick misses from Rooster. Rooster tries a head kick but it misses.
Perez tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Rooster defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Perez.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Rooster looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Perez unleashes a big counter combination but Rooster bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Perez wants to clinch up but Rooster keeps it at a distance. Perez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Rooster seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Rooster scores with a leg kick.
Perez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rooster paws at him with a jab and circles away. A head kick misses from Perez. Perez blocks the body kick.
Perez dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Rooster. That did some damage! This has been an exciting period of action! Rooster throws a head kick that misses
and Perez counters by clinching up. Perez has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Rooster after a bit of a struggle. Rooster is trying to break the clinch but Perez is controlling him. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ron Rooster dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Rooster displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Perez. Rooster fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Perez has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Rooster throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Perez appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Perez tries to clinch and Rooster counters with a good low kick that Perez was not able to check. Perez fails in his attempt to clinch. Rooster throws a quick counter head kick but Perez was just out of range. Perez tries to clinch but fails miserably and Rooster counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Donte Perez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Rooster throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Perez shoots in looking for a takedown but Rooster manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Perez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Ron Rooster has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donte Perez. Perez shoots and misses enabling Rooster to counter with a crisp jab.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Perez tries to clinch but Rooster moves out of range. Rooster takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Perez shoots and misses and Rooster counters with a head kick. That will keep Perez thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Perez is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rooster drops Perez with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Perez! Rooster dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

You can see the frustration on Saavedra's face� He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Mendoza will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Mendoza has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Saavedra! Can he survive? No! He's out! Mendoza gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Choi misses with a head kick.
Choi instigates a clinch. Frederick is pressed up against the cage. Choi has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Frederick down to the mat. Frederick avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Choi throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Choi takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Poliyuz Povetkkin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Boom Boom! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Aafke Stam and Wagner Zegers.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Povetkkin closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Boom's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Boom has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Boom keeping moving, preventing Povetkkin from controlling successfully. Boom managing to control the position. Povetkkin is looking to pass into half guard but Boom pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Boom is in guard.
 We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boom's corner is telling him to maintain position. Boom postures up and lands a big shot to Povetkkin's brow.
Boom thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Povetkkin wants to sweep here but Boom controlling him for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Povetkkin had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Boom defends it easily. Boom makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Boom has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Povetkkin is looking for a triangle but Boom pushes his legs off easily.
Boom lands a couple of digs. Povetkkin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Boom on the ground. Boom controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Boom content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Boom drops back looking for a leg! Povetkkin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Povetkkin manages to kick Boom off! Boom jumps back into Povetkkin's guard. Boom passes easily into side control. Nice work. Povetkkin is breathing heavily.
Boom is working to tighten his grip on Povetkkin's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Povetkkin has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Boom is really squeezing tight and eventually Povetkkin passes out! Boom breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Da Bronx ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Steins tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Da Bronx paws at him with a jab and circles away. Da Bronx looks like he wants to counter punch here. Da Bronx lands a jab. Steins tries to clinch there but Da Bronx circles away.
Steins takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Da Bronx keeps the fight on the outside. Da Bronx looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Steins's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Da Bronx connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Steins scrambles back to his feet. Nice shot by Da Bronx. Steins is looking to clinch. Da Bronx unleashes a big counter combination but Steins bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Da Bronx looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Da Bronx pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Steins tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Steins pivots, looking for a leg kick but Da Bronx is out of range and Steins settles back down.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Steins wants to clinch but Da Bronx slips to the side and Da Bronx counters with a left right combination that sends Steins crashing to the mat - Da Bronx wastes no time in diving on top of him and pounding Steins out for a TKO! Devastating finish!
