Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Casey Van Sanders (ranked 3673 p4p, 2376 weight class) and Shade Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Casey Van Sanders has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Casey Van Sanders! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Shade Cole! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Paulsen Ambrosius.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Van Sanders tries to clinch up but Cole circles away and keeps his distance.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Cole.
Cole decides to stand back up. No joy there for Cole, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Van Sanders shoots for a double leg takedown but Cole sprawls well. He's pushed Van Sanders's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Cole tries to counter by closing the distance. Van Sanders tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cole sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Van Sanders somewhat. Van Sanders tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Cole defends well and Van Sanders ends up having to push Cole into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Casey Van Sanders. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cole breaks from the clinch.
Van Sanders shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cole as he avoids it easily. Cole throws a series of punches but Van Sanders moves out of range. Cole swinging wildly here.
Cole shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Cole winds up and cracks Van Sanders with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Cole prevents Van Sanders from improving his position. Cole landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Cole wants to stand up but Van Sanders has a hold of him and won't allow it. Van Sanders is trying to stand back up but Cole is controlling him
Van Sanders holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Cole connects with a nice short shot to Van Sanders's temple. Cole lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Cole working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Cole stalling away here and it's allowed Van Sanders to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Cole makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Cole really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Van Sanders. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Van Sanders is trying to control the position but Cole postures up.
Van Sanders is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cole is aware though and is defending well. Cole is looking to pass into half guard but Van Sanders pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Van Sanders is in guard.
Van Sanders stopping the sweep attempt from Cole. Cole wants to get back to his feet but Van Sanders is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Cole is trying to control the position but Van Sanders postures up. Van Sanders tries to free his leg and advance position but Cole is retaining full guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Cole managing to control the position.
Van Sanders is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Cole is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Cole has escaped and now he's on top!
 The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cole has gone for a leg lock! Van Sanders slips out almost immediately though and dives into Cole's guard.
Van Sanders won't allow Cole to get back to his feet.
 That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cole uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Shade Cole seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cole keeps the fight on the outside. Cole throws a right hand that Van Sanders ducks under and follows up with a left that Van Sanders also avoids with ease.
Cole has closed the distance and engaged Van Sanders in a clinch.
Cole manages to break the clinch.
Van Sanders tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cole swivels and escapes.
Cole shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Van Sanders pushes Cole off and scrambles back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Van Sanders misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Cole is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Cole throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Van Sanders. Cole fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Shade Cole dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Van Sanders gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Cole landing with the ground and pound.
Cole got a little sloppy there for a moment and Van Sanders has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cole has managed to get both his arms back between Van Sanders's legs - danger averted. Shade Cole has got the better of the ground game so far. Cole stands up over Van Sanders, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Van Sanders looking to control.
Cole looking to pass the guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Van Sanders pulls Cole in close to his closed guard and prevents Cole from doing any damage or advancing position. Cole passes easily into side control. Nice work.
 That's one minute gone in the round.
Cole tries for a kimura but Van Sanders is defending well. Van Sanders wants to control but Cole postures up. Van Sanders is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Cole looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Van Sanders keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Van Sanders is looking for a sweep. Cole is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Cole working Van Sanders over with strikes. Van Sanders makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Van Sanders.
 That's two minutes gone in the round.
Van Sanders working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cole doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cole manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Cole with a flurry of punches that miss. Van Sanders will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Van Sanders is working an open guard so Cole takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Van Sanders tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cole swats him away and circles back towards the center. Van Sanders fails with a takedown attempt. Cole throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Van Sanders stumbling backwards into the cage! Van Sanders bounces back off the cage towards Cole, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Cole lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Cole celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
