Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 20 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frankie Mir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Saekenpai Fairtex! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fairtex tries for a takedown but Mir circles away easily
and Mir moves into the clinch. Fairtex is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. A bit of stalling here from Mir.
Mir tries to throw a body punch but Fairtex avoids it by throwing Mir back against the cage.
Mir manages to break the clinch.
Mir throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Fairtex just misses with a punch to the body.
Mir fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Fairtex is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Fairtex gets tackled into the cage by Mir. Mir maintains the clinch. Mir presses Fairtex against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mir drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Fairtex is wriggling around but Mir manages to pass to half guard.

Mir is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Fairtex defends it well. Mir lands with a punch from half guard.

Mir content to control rather than advance.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mir drops an elbow to the side of Fairtex's head. Nice strikes from Mir there. Mir lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Fairtex is still in real trouble! Can Mir finish him? Mir takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Fairtex on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Ground and pound from Mir. Mir tries to stand but can't do so whilst Fairtex controls his leg. Mir scores with a big shot! Fairtex's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Fairtex! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
