The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Seone circles away from the clinch attempt.
Seone lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Seone scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Mack doesn't seem bothered though.

Marquez connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Riddle's hands.
Riddle moves out of range of the leg kick from Marquez.
Riddle throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Marquez.
Marquez lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
 It looks like Gu Riddle has been cut.
Riddle tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

No joy there for Marquez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Benavidez Marquez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gu Riddle.
Riddle walks straight into a right hand from Marquez - that's dropped him! Marquez jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Riddle from any more punishment! Riddle complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

In his post fight interview, Benavidez Marquez started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
