Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mateusz Gamrot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ron Hammonds!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, John Roberts and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hammonds shoots in looking for a takedown. Gamrot tries to sprawl out of it but Hammonds keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gamrot manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Gamrot closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gamrot lands in his opponent's guard.
Hammonds wants to get back to his feet but Gamrot is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hammonds working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gamrot doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gamrot manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Hammonds has his foot on Gamrot's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gamrot works his way back into a safe position though.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hammonds enables Gamrot to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hammonds manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Tyquanvious Banks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Von closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Banks's guard.

Banks manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Banks should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Von can't break the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Von - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Banks has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Banks is trying to pull guard but Von turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Von misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Banks.

Banks jumps guard and drags Von to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Banks working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Von's head.

Von wriggles free and stands up.

Oooooh!!! Von has knocked Banks down with a huge combo! Von steps away and waves a wobbly Banks back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Tyquanvious Banks has been cut.
Banks slips a jab and a cross from Von.
Von shoots in and drives through. Banks sprawls well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Banks throws a head kick that Von semi-blocks.

Von escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Banks shoots in for a double leg but Von sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Von appears to be looking for a big counter.

Well, if Von is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Banks tries to keep at a distance but Von has taken the fight into the clinch.
Banks managing to block the knees to the body from Von.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Banks has eaten all the pies!
Von is trying to break the clinch but Banks is controlling him.
Banks is trying to force a seperation but Von has the dominant position.
Von is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Banks can do to turn this around?

Banks shoots for a double leg takedown but Von sprawls well. He's pushed Banks's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Banks swings for the body but Von moves out of range.
Von throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Von darts in and clinches Banks up against the cage.

Banks ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Banks no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Von won't allow Banks to get back to his feet.
Von has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Von is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Von stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Banks swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Banks wants to stand up but Von is controlling him.

Von gets to his feet - Banks follows without any prompting.
Banks tries to clinch there but Von circles away.
Banks has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Von throws a head kick that misses.
Von blocks a head kick by Banks.
Von cracks Banks with a hook to the temple - Banks is on wobbly legs here! Von swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Banks falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Von wins by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Kts Von!
