The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soaki looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Zarandous throws a right hand that Soaki ducks under and follows up with a left that Soaki also avoids with ease.
Soaki uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Zarandous.
And Soaki tries to counter it with a takedown but Zarandous pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Zarandous just misses with a punch to the body.
Zarandous throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Soaki misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Leer tries to get to his feet but Shewmaker is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Leer is in need of a savior and steps in!

Bruce feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Ribeiro sprawling to the canvas! Ribeiro rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Bruce finish him?!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ribeiro leaves his chin hanging out and Bruce seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Ribeiro crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

We've been hearing reports that Johnson has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
