The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Can.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Evans! But no joy.
Can is looking to land body kicks.
Evans tries to bum rush Can with a series of wild strikes but Can uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Can throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Evans counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Can rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Evans cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Can looks to land a left hand but Evans moved out of range nicely.
Can drops his hands momentarily and Evans takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Evans bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Can's head.
Can looks to throw a body kick
and Evans counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Ameri Can seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Evans throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Evans takes one to the chin there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Can misses with a shot to the body
and Evans counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Can gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Evans working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
