Lapierre avoids a punch combination nicely.
Williams throws a left and a right that both miss

so Lapierre counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Lapierre thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Lapierre drops back looking for a leg! Williams is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Williams manages to kick Lapierre off! Lapierre jumps back into Williams's guard.
Lapierre has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Lapierre is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Lapierre won't allow Williams to sweep him here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Williams bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lapierre's guard.


Lapierre is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Williams would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Lapierre is looking to cinch up a triangle. Williams throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Lapierre's body to avoid the submission. Lapierre has instead reached around Williams's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Lapierre arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

An out of breath Ivar Kvick thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
