Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rigoberto Guzman (ranked 3881 p4p, 4029 weight class) and Eric Jacquin (ranked 454 p4p, 467 weight class). Rigoberto Guzman had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 157.0lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Rigoberto Guzman could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Eric Jacquin's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Eric Jacquin!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guzman dives in for a single leg takedown but Jacquin sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Guzman is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Jacquin is defending well.
Jacquin wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Guzman manages to break the clinch.
Guzman is looking to clinch but Jacquin is avoiding it.
Guzman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jacquin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Guzman misses with the combination.
Eric Jacquin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jacquin manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Guzman on his heels. He'll look to pass Guzman's guard now, I'm sure.
Jacquin is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Jacquin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Guzman swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jacquin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Guzman will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Guzman is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Guzman wants to stand but Jacquin is controlling the position.
Jacquin slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Jacquin passes Guzman's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Jacquin wants to pass to mount but Guzman is defending the position.
Jacquin is taking a breather. Guzman says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Guzman is in trouble now - Jacquin has advanced to mount!
Guzman is working to get back to half guard.
Jacquin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Jacquin wants to take Guzman's back but he can't do it this time.
Guzman has given up his back. Will we see Jacquin going for some submissions?

Guzman trying to get back to his feet but Jacquin is in full control for now.
Jacquin keeps control of the position easily here as Guzman tries to buck him off.

Jacquin has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Guzman! Can he survive? No! He's out! Jacquin gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
