Roman throws a right hand that Gardens ducks under and follows up with a left that Gardens also avoids with ease.

Roman is pushing Gardens's head away, looking to escape. Gardens manages to hold on to the position though.

Gardens is working to tighten is grip on Roman's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Roman has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Gardens is really squeezing tight and eventually Roman passes out! Gardens breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Horrible takedown by Penn or perhaps it was just good defense by Fernstrom which made him look bad.
Fernstrom connects with the punch.
A lazy left from Fernstrom finds it's target.

Penn slips under a jab.
A telegraphed right hand from Fernstrom misses the target.
Fernstrom connects with a good right hand that stumbles Penn. Penn circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Penn avoids a punch combination nicely.
Penn tries for a takedown but Fernstrom sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Fernstrom misses with a looping right.
Fernstrom stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

It looks like Mark Penn has been cut.
Martin Fernstrom seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fernstrom cracks Penn with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Penn falls to his knees and Fernstrom doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
