Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kaiju Yamagata!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brad Anthony!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yamagata gets the takedown into side control.
Anthony is not content to let Yamagata control the position.
Anthony is pushing Yamagata's head away, looking to escape. Yamagata manages to hold on to the position though.
Anthony looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Yamagata looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Anthony is looking to regain half guard here but Yamagata keeps moving and retains side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Anthony is trying to work for a sweep but Yamagata has mounted him!

Yamagata goes for an armbar but Anthony turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Anthony.

Yamagata is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Anthony defends well.

Yamagata looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Anthony got a little sloppy there for a moment and Yamagata has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Anthony has managed to get both his arms back between Yamagata's legs - danger averted.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Anthony's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Yamagata will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Yamagata wants to control the position but Anthony says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Yamagata wants to improve his position but Anthony is controlling well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Anthony wants to control from the top but Yamagata keeps moving.

Yamagata on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Yamagata tries to get out of the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Yamagata lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Kaiju Yamagata dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Yamagata fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Anthony sprawls well initially but Yamagata persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Anthony wants to stand back up but Yamagata manages to pass into side control.
Anthony tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Yamagata wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Yamagata tries to advance to mount but Anthony denies him.
Yamagata wants to control but Anthony is keeping him busy.
Kaiju Yamagata overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Yamagata has hold of Anthony's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Anthony seems comfortable defending it but Yamagata has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Anthony is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Anthony is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Yamagata couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Kaiju Yamagata!
