Undercard bout

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steven Duong (ranked 2179 p4p, 3181 weight class) and Marvin Vettori (ranked 294 p4p, 410 weight class). Duong comes to the cage accompanied by Tyron Woodley . I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Marvin Vettori was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vettori blocks a jab.
A slow jab from Duong misses its intended target.
Duong throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Vettori on the side of the head.

A looping hook to the body misses from Duong. Vettori does a little dance to reset his feet.
And Vettori tries to counter it with a takedown but Duong pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Vettori changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Duong looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Timoty Meyer.

Gadela had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Joseph defends it easily.

With feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Tarrent sprawling to the canvas! Tarrent rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can With finish him?!
It looks like Matt Tarrent has been cut.
Tarrent walks straight into a right hand from With - that's dropped him! With jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Tarrent from any more punishment! Tarrent complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
