The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Da Blood dives in and grabs Kool's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kool pushes down on Da Blood 's head and hops out.

Kool moves into range and clinches up with Da Blood .
Da Blood tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kool smiles and moves away.

Kool dives in and scores a takedown into Da Blood 's guard.

Da Blood kicks Kool off and gets to his feet.

Kool shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kool trying to control from half guard but Da Blood is working away.

Kool decides to stand and escape the position.
Kool takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Kool closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kool lands in his opponent's guard.

Da Blood pushes Kool off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Kool rushes Da Blood and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Da Blood tries to pull guard but Kool holds him up against the cage and eventually Da Blood drops back down to his feet.
Dave Kool has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ivan Da Blood .
Kool works on Da Blood 's body with a couple of short punches.
Da Blood looks winded!

Kool wants the takedown. Da Blood is fighting it off but Kool persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Da Blood 's guard against the cage.
Kool could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Mhiaolov lands a couple of decent looking shots.

and O Malley counters with a crisp right hand that drops Taric! O Malley lets Taric back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hughes has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
