Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.

Kummola closes the distance and pushes Rutger back into the cage.

Harley shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Pyle defends it nicely.
Pyle unleashes a big counter combination but Harley bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Pyle goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Pyle tries for a takedown but Harley sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Pyle closes the distance and clinches.

Harley pulls Pyle into guard.
Pyle wants to stand and escape but instead Harley has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Harley slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Pyle is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Horrible takedown attempt by Pyle or perhaps it was just good defense by Harley, which made it look bad.

Harley changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pyle looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pyle wants to get back to his feet but Harley drags him back down.
Harley remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Harley is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pyle is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Lew throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Irving was covering up waiting for the punch and Lew finishes the takedown easily into guard.
