Bass takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Licha fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Bass looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Licha throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Bass colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Licha as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Bass is left battered and dazed whilst Licha and his camp cheer!

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kalle Kala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Silver Surfer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kalle Kala!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Silver Surfer!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kala shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Surfer has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kala can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kala passes Surfer's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Surfer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kala. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kala has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Surfer is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Kala postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Surfer looks a forlorn figure.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kala fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Surfer throws a hook but Kala avoids it easily.
Surfer tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kala paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kala lands a nice looking body shot.
Kala stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Kala scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Surfer doesn't seem bothered though.

Kala feints and as Surfer raises his hands in defense, Kala changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Kala stands and throws Surfer's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Surfer is breathing heavily.

Kala grinds an elbow into Surfer's temple.
Surfer is letting Kala control him for a moment.
Surfer can't do much from the bottom here.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Kala has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kalle Kala.
Kala fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Some wild striking there from Surfer.

Surfer gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kala to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Kala's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Kala is nestled in close to Surfer, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Kala landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Kala frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Kala seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Surfer for as long as he can get away with.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kalle Kala dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Kala is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Surfer can do to turn this around?

Surfer looks to land a combination but Kala avoids it well.

Kala wants to break the clinch but can't.
Surfer throws a punch but it's blocked by Kala.
Surfer stops a takedown attempt from Kala.

Kala drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kalle Kala. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Surfer takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Kala fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Kala goes for a takedown attempt but Surfer pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Kala misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Surfer.
Kala moves out of range of the strikes.
Kala throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kala uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Surfer.
A looping hook to the body misses from Surfer. Kala does a little dance to reset his feet.
Surfer throws a combination that misses
and Kala counters with a left to the body.
Kala throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Surfer stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
A cross from Kala lands.
Kala lands with a nice body punch.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Kala!
Surfer needs to keep his hands up - Kala had a free shot at his head there.

Surfer is rocked!
Kala cracks Surfer with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Surfer tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Kala pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Surfer is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kalle Kala!
