The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hoyt lands a left and a right that send Blackbeard crashing to the mat, dazed. Hoyt thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Captain Blackbeard has been cut.
Blackbeard looks for a takedown but Hoyt sprawls well.

Blackbeard tries to keep at a distance but Hoyt has taken the fight into the clinch.

The crowd goes nuts as Blackbeard knocks Hoyt out cold with a massive hammerfist! Blackbeard Jumps to his feet and climbs on top of the cage to celebrate with the crowd!

Mark avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Mark takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Mark looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Byuck is fending him off so far but Mark persists. Nope, Byuck circles away and we're back to standing.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Mark checks a leg kick.
Mark fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Byuck manages to avoid it.
Byuck is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Byuck throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Byuck connects with a body shot.
Byuck darts in trying to clinch

and Mark counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Byuck is looking to improve his position.
Byuck has hold of Mark's hands but Mark slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Mark seems to be working for a kimura but Byuck defends the submission attempt.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Byuck is trying to maintain the position but Mark is very close to passing his half guard.
Mark drops an elbow to the side of Byuck's head.

Mark is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Byuck is just riding it out for now. Mark eventually gives up the hold.
Mark is controlling the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mark seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Byuck wants to control but Mark is keeping busy.

Mark working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Mark is nestled in close to Byuck, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Mark in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Byuck tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Mark!

Bob throws out a loose jab but Lamar uses good head movement to avoid it.
Bob throws a front kick aimed at Lamar's knee but Lamar avoids it well.
Bob throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Lamar counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Lamar is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

It looks like Billy Bob has been cut.

Lamar with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Bob is rocked!
Lamar postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Bob covers up, he's hurt! Lamar keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Lamar and the ref steps in to end the fight! Lamar can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Some wild striking there from Polak.
Hudson is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Polak fails with the takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Polak misses with a double jab
and Hudson counters with an outside leg kick.
Morgan Hudson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Polak tries to bum rush Hudson with a series of wild strikes but Hudson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Polak misses with a takedown
and Hudson counters with a solid body kick.
Polak is breathing heavily.
Hudson connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Hudson pounces like a tiger and cracks Polak with a vicious hook! Polak is down but not out! Hudson follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
