Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lucky Luke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, DoN KiNg!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Chris Dean and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

KiNg looking to score a takedown here. Luke is defending well but KiNg drives through and ends up in Luke's guard.

Luke is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and KiNg defends well.
KiNg wanted to stand there but Luke had control of the position.
Luke looking to hit a scissor sweep but KiNg is one step ahead there.
KiNg looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
KiNg won't allow Luke to sweep him here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Luke is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Luke escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. KiNg gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Luke is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Luke is really struggling to control KiNg but he's trying to hold on to the position.
KiNg wants to pass the guard but Luke is keeping the position.
Luke utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Luke is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. KiNg doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Luke.
Luke is trying to control the action in half guard but KiNg is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Lucky Luke will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

KiNg closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Luke quickly recovers to half guard.
It looks like KiNg is going to stand back up.

Luke is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of KiNg's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take KiNg's back!

Luke is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. KiNg is defending well though. Luke let's go of the attempt for now.

KiNg is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Luke gets his way!

Luke is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. KiNg has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Luke has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! KiNg taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Luke doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Lucky Luke!

Monroe looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hocker is fending him off so far but Monroe persists. Nope, Hocker circles away and we're back to standing.

Hocker wants to get up but he can't break Monroe's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Monroe manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Monroe gets control of Hocker's arms and successfully pulls guard. Monroe will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Monroe looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Monroe tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hocker swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Hocker throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Monroe tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hocker is in Monroe's guard.

Monroe has his feet on Hocker's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Monroe jumps guard but Hocker turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Monroe tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Hocker has clasped his hands together around Monroe's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Russell Hocker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hocker fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Monroe to the ground. Hocker is now in Monroe's guard.

Monroe has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Hocker off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hocker closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Monroe bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Monroe shoots in for a takedown but Hocker shows good takedown defense.
Nice shot lands for Hocker.
Hocker stuffs the takedown.
Hocker tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Monroe manages to circle out of the way.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hocker feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That's time! Hocker's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Hocker really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Monroe unleashes a big counter combination but Hocker bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Monroe closes the distance and clinches up with Hocker, looking for a takedown. Monroe pushes Hocker against the cage but Hocker circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Hocker is looking to break free of the clinch but Monroe has double underhooks.
Hocker creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Monroe's defenses.

Monroe tightens his grip and picks Hocker up, before dumping him to the ground. Hocker manages to land in guard.
Monroe's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Monroe is continuing to stall.
Hocker controls Monroe momentarily but Monroe frees himself.
Monroe is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Hocker wants to control the position but Monroe says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Monroe perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hocker on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Monroe lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Monroe lands a nice short elbow.
Monroe has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Monroe content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Monroe in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Hocker tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Monroe!
