The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Bozeck counters with a left and a right that stings Johnson.
Bozeck stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bozeck wants it to stay on the feet.

Bozeck closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Johnson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Johnson tries for a takedown but Bozeck sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Johnson misses with a jab, cross combination.

Bozeck manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Johnson on his heels. He'll look to pass Johnson's guard now, I'm sure.
Bozeck is fighting to break Johnson's control of his arms but Johnson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Zamora moves into range and connects with a jab.

Zamora closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Kleynen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Zamora. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kleynen is trying to buck Zamora off.

Zamora is trying to get an arm triangle but Kleynen is defending well.
Kleynen felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Kleynen is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Zamora has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Zamora has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Zamora has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Kleynen is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Zamora yanks on the arm and Kleynen is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Zamora.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nazir can do anything to dispel that myth.

That was a close round but I would say that Preston Lawson will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Lawson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nazir tries to avoid it but Lawson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nazir to the ground. Nazir escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Abumbu, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masamune tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Bersten closes the distance but Masamune moves to the side
and Masamune counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Bersten pushes Masamune away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Masamune gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Masamune is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bersten has escaped the position, nice work there.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
