Alvarez goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Lotus fails with a takedown attempt.
West throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Lotus felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with West in particular looking to stall.
West winds up and cracks Lotus with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Lotus really doesn't want to stay on the ground with West. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
West seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
