I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Genaddu Chakovshiy was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Ray has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Ray and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Pearse Mullen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hund fails with the takedown.
It looked like Kane wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Kane throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hund.
Hund moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Kane scores with a hook to the body. Hund takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Hund looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Kane swings for the body but Hund moves out of range.
A bone on bone clash there as Hund blocks the leg kick.
Kane throws a good cross that connects.
Hund changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kane tries to avoid it but Hund manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kane to the ground. Kane escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
An attempted straight right counter from Kane misses the target.
Kane cracks Hund with an open hand slap.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Kane counters with a good, hard body kick but Hund shrugs it off.
Boris Kane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Borys Hund.

Hund pushes Kane off and gets back to his feet.

Horrible takedown attempt by Hund or perhaps it was just good defense by Kane, which made it look bad.

The referee warns Hund that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Hund tries to buck Kane off but he can't manage it.
Hund sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Hund is looking for a sweep. Kane is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Hund is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Hund is staying active underneath Kane, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Kane works his way into full mount!

Kane looking to isolate an arm here. Hund doesn't see it coming and as Kane extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Kane!

Steve is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Carneiro.

Steve swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Carneiro feints a counter leg kick.
Steve takes a swing at Carneiro's ribcage but misses.
Carneiro is looking for the big counter here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Carneiro has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Oooooh!!! Steve has knocked Carneiro down with a huge combo! Steve steps away and waves a wobbly Carneiro back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Steve fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Carneiro square on the jaw! Damn, Carneiro is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!
