And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tom Michaels!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Phillips tries to keep at a distance but Michaels has taken the fight into the clinch.

Michaels breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nice uppercut there from Phillips.

It looks like Tom Michaels has been cut.
Michaels moves forwards but Phillips connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Michaels moves into the clinch successfully.

Michaels ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Michaels no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Phillips is looking to stand up but Michaels won't let him.
Michaels looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Michaels bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Phillips's guard.


Michaels thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Michaels stops Phillips from standing up.
Phillips knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Michaels on the ground.

Dragan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Evans can't do much from the bottom here.
Evans wants to get back to his feet but Dragan drags him back down.
Evans is looking for a sweep.
Dragan trying to control the action but Evans is working from the bottom.
Dragan really is a fat lump.
Dragan moves into full mount!
Evans bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Evans stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dragan swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Evans avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Evans slips nicely into half guard.

Evans is trying to work for a kimura but Dragan is defending well.
Evans is trying to control. Dragan wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Evans takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Evans is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Dragan to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Dragan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Dragan controls Evans momentarily but Evans frees himself.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Dragan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Evans but Evans pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Dragan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Evans looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Evans bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Dragan is breathing heavily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Evans.
Dragan swings for the body but Evans moves out of range.

Evans tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dragan swivels and escapes.
Dragan changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Dragan defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Evans.
Vas Dragan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Evans.
Dragan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Evans shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dragan pinned against the cage. Dragan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Dragan looking to score a takedown here. Evans is defending well but Dragan drives through and ends up in Evans's guard.

Evans working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dragan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dragan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Dragan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Dragan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Evans's waist but Evans gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dragan off to one side.

Dragan is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Dragan's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Dragan has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Evans!
Evans is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Dragan has taken his back.
Dragan is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Evans looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vas Dragan dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Dragan closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Evans to the mat! Evans manages to get full guard.
Dragan trying to control the position from guard on top but Evans is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dragan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Dragan seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Evans for as long as he can get away with.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Evans has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dragan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Evans has his foot on Dragan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dragan works his way back into a safe position though.

Evans is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Dragan's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Dragan! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Evans has tapped! This one is allllll over!

Vas Dragan decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
