The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magolis throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Magolis dodges the punch combination from Tim.

Magolis feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Tim is pulling down on Magolis's head to control his posture.

Tim's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Garner is nestled in close to Ibisevicz, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Garner here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Garner in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Ibisevicz tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Garner!

A very excited looking Rayder Garner rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

We've been hearing reports that Lyon has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Vader stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lyon connects with a nice short shot to Vader's temple.
Lyon is just content to waste time from the top position. Vader takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Lyon lands a good shot there. Vader covers up! Lyon smells blood and goes for the finish - the referee warns Vader to improve his position but he's not intelligently defending himself and the referee has no choice but to step in and end the fight! Lyon jumps to his feet and celebrates the important win with his cornermen!

Our winner, Elias Lyon, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
