The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hunter instigates a clinch.
Genes jumps guard but Hunter turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Hunter has a couple of punches blocked by Genes.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Hunter as Genes tries to tie him up.
Hunter swings wildly with an uppercut but Genes uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hunter tries to work over Genes's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Genes takes a shot to the head.

It looks like Dio Genes has been cut.
Genes tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
A head punch on the inside from Hunter fails to land.
Hunter gets through Genes's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hunter dips a shoulder and cracks Genes with a mighty uppercut! Genes falls back against the cage and Hunter unloads with a barrage of strikes! Genes is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Hunter screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Heath tries to clinch up but Yuri circles away and keeps his distance.

Yuri uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Heath.

Yuri decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Heath, up you get!

Heath avoids the head kick by Yuri.
Heath shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Yuri sprawls well. Yuri wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Heath gets slowly back to his feet.

Heath working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Yuri doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Yuri manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Heath escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Yuri gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Heath is looking to cinch up a triangle. Yuri throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Heath's body to avoid the submission. Heath has instead reached around Yuri's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Heath arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Boris Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Baker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kane kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Seek N Strike. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.
