The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moreno tries to clinch up.
Moreno has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Moreno tries for a takedown but Simenkov sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Foster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hades Hug (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hug comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Animal I Have Become kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Hug lands a left and a right that send Foster crashing to the mat, dazed. Hug thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Foster is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Hug just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Foster has gone limp and this one is over!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Corwin Anstey.
