Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bo Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Fredriksen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fredriksen has chosen Indestructible by Rancid as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tim Fredriksen!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith shoots in and gets a takedown into Fredriksen's guard.

Fredriksen uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Fredriksen tries to close the distance and clinch but Smith swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Fredriksen looks to clinch
and Smith counters with a stiff right hand.
The fight stays on the outside here - Fredriksen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Smith scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Fredriksen sneaks out the side door and pushes Smith away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fredriksen tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Smith defends well and Fredriksen ends up having to push Smith into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Smith tried to counter with a leg kick but Fredriksen avoided it.

A little feinted left hand from Smith on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Smith tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fredriksen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smith somewhat.

and Smith counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Fredriksen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fredriksen is looking to control Smith's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Fredriksen avoid being mounted?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fredriksen felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Smith works to advance to full mount. Fredriksen defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Smith wants to take Fredriksen's back here but Fredriksen is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

On his way into the cage it seems that Cartel Lopez has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Cartel Lopez seems to be OK! The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Adams drives through and clinches with Lopez against the cage.
Adams tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lopez smiles and moves away.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Adams is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lopez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Adams swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Lopez thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Lopez is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Lopez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lopez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Lopez advances position into side control!

Lopez working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Lopez is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Adams is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Lopez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Adams knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Lopez has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Lopez is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Adams looks calm but he's in trouble here. Lopez gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Adams is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Lopez lets go of the hold and Adams can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Cartel Lopez decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
