The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a right and a left that Catos avoids nicely.
Jones shoots for a double leg takedown but Catos sprawls well. He's pushed Jones's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Jones fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Catos, pushing him back against the cage.

Jones drags the fight down to the ground.

Catos drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jones looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jones looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jones!

Jones tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Catos defends well and Jones ends up having to push Catos into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Catos throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jones's waist but Jones gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Catos off to one side.

Catos bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jones connects with a nice short shot to Catos's temple.

Colby Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Catos has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Zinith shoots in looking for a takedown. Maxwell tries to sprawl out of it but Zinith keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Maxwell manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Maxwell displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Zinith.
Maxwell scoring well with a low kick there.
Maxwell fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Zinith.
Zinith stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Maxwell.

Maxwell has his feet on Zinith's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Zinith has an Americana. Maxwell didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Zinith is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Zinith hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Axel Zinith!
A relieved looking Axel Zinith thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.

Hero works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Hero dodges the punch combination from Moe.
Moe tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hero was well out of range. Poor timing from Moe.
As Moe looks to move away, Hero throws a big counter combo but Moe just gets out of the way.

Moe has taken the fight to the clinch.
Moe lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Hero has had enough of the clinch but Moe keeps him there for the moment.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Moe.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Moe.
Hero is trying to break the clinch but Moe has him pressed against the cage.
Hero looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Moe lands a hook that snaps the head of Hero backwards.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Still in the clinch, Moe scores with a nice short uppercut.

Moe pushes Hero back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Moe drops Hero onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Hero is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

It looks like Alan Hero has been cut.
Hero tries to break free but Moe pushes him back against the cage.
Oh Hero is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Moe lands an elbow inside that Hero shrugs off.

Moe creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Hero with a big uppercut! Hero tries to clinch up but Moe pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Hero to the mat! Hero covers up and Moe unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Pateman tries to clinch there but Smith Jr circles away.
Smith Jr defending well as Pateman loads up on a big left hand.
Pateman misses with an uppercut.
As Pateman backs off Smith Jr throws a huge counter combo but Pateman manages to avoid it all.

Pateman looks to land a left hand but Smith Jr moved out of range nicely.

Pateman throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Pateman throws a leg kick but Smith Jr sees it coming and moves out of range.
Smith Jr rushes Pateman and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Pateman is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Smith Jr piles on the pressure and Pateman crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
