Alves slaps away a takedown attempt from Sturtsil, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Alves steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Sturtsil.
Sturtsil throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Alves was covering up waiting for the punch and Sturtsil finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Alves tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Sturtsil postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Sturtsil won't allow Alves to sweep him here.
Sturtsil throws a strike but Alves rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Sturtsil has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Alves doesn't defend quickly enough and Sturtsil has managed to lock this one up! Can Alves escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Sturtsil on a fantastic submission victory.
