The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rock shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Rock throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Rock seems to be working for a kimura but Kazama defends the submission attempt.

Rock is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Kazama keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Kazama wants to control but Rock is keeping busy.

Rock is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kazama defends it well.

Rock seems to be working for a kimura but Kazama defends the submission attempt.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Rock slips a straight right by Kazama.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rock has gone for a leg lock! Kazama slips out almost immediately though and dives into Rock's guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Jin Kazama will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Kazama lands a nice shot that snaps Rock's head back.
Rock fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Kazama leaves Rock with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Rock fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kazama avoids it really well and circles away.
Jin Kazama has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of DJ Lance Rock.

Rock uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kazama.

Rock closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kazama circles away.
Kazama moves in looking to clinch but Rock pushes him off.
Rock shoots for a takedown but Kazama saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kazama is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rock.

Rock tries to pull guard but Kazama holds him up against the cage and eventually Rock drops back down to his feet.

Rock has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kazama uses from the top position.

Kazama controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Kazama has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Rock manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rock looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Rock is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kazama is just riding it out for now. Rock eventually gives up the hold.
Kazama is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rock's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rock's back!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Rock is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Kazama gets his way!

Kazama is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Rock has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Kazama is trying to stick to Rock's back but Rock is turning into Kazama. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Kazama's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Rock.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Kazama bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rock's guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jin Kazama.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kazama, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Bard stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from De Jong.
Bard doesn't manage to clinch there - De Jong circles away.
Good leg kick by De Jong there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
