The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Numa shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Scarpa manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Numa looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Scarpa is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Scarpa is working hard here to advance position.

Scarpa working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Numa doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Numa manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Scarpa is trying to control the position but Numa postures up.

Scarpa is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Numa defends well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Numa got a little sloppy there for a moment and Scarpa has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Numa has managed to get both his arms back between Scarpa's legs - danger averted.
Numa wants to stand and escape but instead Scarpa has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Murray takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Fynn throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Murray on the side of the head.
Lee Murray seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A telegraphed right hand from Fynn misses the target.
Fynn stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Murray misses with a jab, cross combination.
Murray is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Fynn.

Fynn connects with a superb combination that knocks Murray out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Fynn before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Murray!

Knope throws a leg kick but Stevens sees it coming and checks it nicely.
As Knope backs off Stevens throws a huge counter combo but Knope manages to avoid it all.

Knope closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Stevens has Knope pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Stevens pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Knope tumbling to the mat - Stevens dives into Knope's guard.

Knope has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Stevens has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Knope misses with the head strike.
Knope throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Knope lands an elbow just above Stevens 's eye.

It looks like Frank Stevens has been cut.
Stevens tries to pull guard but Knope holds him up against the cage and eventually Stevens drops back down to his feet.
Stevens jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Knope walks away with a smile on his face. Stevens gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stevens takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Knope scores with the left hand. Stevens knows he should have avoided that one.
We've been told by Knope's head coaches at Fokai Academy that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Oooooh!!! Knope has knocked Stevens down with a huge combo! Knope steps away and waves a wobbly Stevens back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Stevens throws a right and a left that Knope avoids nicely.
Knope attempts a counter takedown but Stevens avoids it well and moves away.

Knope digs a good body shot into Stevens's ribs.
Knope scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Knope lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Sloppy strikes from Stevens. Those never looked like landing.
Stevens is still on wobbly legs! Can Knope finish him?
BAM! Knope delivers a spinning backfist that drops Stevens like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!
