Undercard bout

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Zumo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derrick Yeung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yeung has chosen Fluffy as his entrance music. Derrick Yeung told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Zumo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Yeung takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Yeung has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Yeung moves forwards but Zumo connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Yeung bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Yeung misses with the combination.
Zumo tries to counter with a takedown but Yeung is quick to defend against it.
Yeung rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Zumo moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Johnson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Stove doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Johnson.

Johnson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tarik Johnson.

Tarik Johnson retains his title. It's always disappointing when a championship fight ends as a draw but that's what happens when you leave the fight in the judges hands!
