The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santoyo blocks a head kick by Sen Pi Er.

Santoyo looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Santoyo postures up in Sen Pi Er's guard and throws a big left but Sen Pi Er blocks it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Santoyo tries to free his leg and advance position but Sen Pi Er is retaining full guard.
Sen Pi Er really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Santoyo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Sen Pi Er can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Santoyo controls the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Santoyo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sen Pi Er swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Santoyo wants to stand but Sen Pi Er is controlling his posture from full guard.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Sen Pi Er thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Santoyo if he has to take too many more of those.
Sen Pi Er fails to land with a series of punches.

Santoyo has an Americana. Sen Pi Er didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Santoyo is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Santoyo hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Gonzalez throws a head kick but Romero moves out of range.
Romero scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Gonzalez misses with a wild combination.
Gonzalez gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Romero.
Romero lands a jab-cross combination.
Gonzalez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Romero punishes Gonzalez's body with a nice straight punch.

Gonzalez swings and misses with a hook to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Romero gets in close and tags Gonzalez with a short punch that almost sends Gonzalez to the mat! Oh Gonzalez is in big trouble! He turns his back on Romero, trying to create some distance but Romero rushes him, striking wildly and Gonzalez goes down! The referee tackles Romero into the cage to end the fight! Romero is one violent man!

Third Round Romero decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
Jason Gonzalez was interviewed post fight and said 'I will come back stronger. I made a bullshit mistake and I will correct my dumb ass mistakes. The next one will be a win.'.

Banks goes for a double leg but Lordero avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lordero continues to drive forward.
Lordero avoids the body shot from Banks.
Nice takedown defense from Lordero. No joy for Banks on that attempt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Banks is defended easily by Lordero.

It looks like Lordero might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Lordero is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Banks has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Banks is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Lordero.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Lordero is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Banks knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Banks for a finish.

Lordero feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
