The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kronwall will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kronwall shoots in but no luck this time.

Gracie changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kronwall looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Gracie is looking to take a break and control but Kronwall is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Gracie is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Kronwall's shoulder. That is not cool.
Gracie trying to control the action but Kronwall is working from the bottom.
Gracie controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kronwall is not content to let Gracie control the position.

Gracie has hold of Kronwall's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Kronwall tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Gracie cranks the arm and Kronwall screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Kronwall, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Nicolas Gracie!
Nicolas Gracie decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

Sim throws a nice inside leg kick.
A combination from Sim does no damage.
A left and a right from Sim both land. Nice combination.

Simpson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Sim on his heels. He'll look to pass Sim's guard now, I'm sure.
Simpson advances position into side control!

Simpson is working to tighten his grip on Sim's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Sim has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Simpson is really squeezing tight and eventually Sim passes out! Simpson breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Mousasi doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Craig cracks Mousasi with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Mousasi falls to his knees and Craig doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Mouba has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Cross steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Mouba is out on his feet! Cross sets himself and nearly takes Mouba's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
