The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lye misses with a double jab

so Franks counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Lye has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Franks has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Lye takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Franks jumps guard but Lye stands there with Franks around his waist. Franks gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Franks tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Lye just stands there and leans against the cage.

Lye manages to pull guard.
Franks sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lye's guard.

Franks looking for a submission but Lye manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Franks accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That was a close round but I would say that Utica Franks will probably get the nod.

Hensen anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Earner and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Hensen slips an arm under Earner chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Hensen has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Hensen is squeezing on Earner like an anaconda would it's prey. Earner fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
