The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hernandez clinches up with Shovkovskyj and pushes him back against the cage.
Shovkovskyj is pressed up against the cage. Hernandez has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Shovkovskyj down to the mat. Shovkovskyj avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Shovkovskyj gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Shovkovskyj stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hernandez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've been hearing that Shovkovskyj has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Ruell feints and then cracks Gemgi's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Gemgi down.
Ruell feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Gemgi's calf.
A slapping body kick lands there for Ruell.
Gemgi needs to keep his hands up - Ruell had a free shot at his head there.
Gemgi on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Ruell has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Ruell dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Gemgi. That did some damage!
Gemgi thows a leg kick but Ruell checks it
and Ruell counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Ruell connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Gemgi momentarily.

Gemgi is rocked!
Ruell pounces like a tiger and cracks Gemgi with a vicious hook! Gemgi is down but not out! Ruell follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Cross has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Nice straight punches there by Cross. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Cross.
MacDonald tries to move into range but Cross moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
BOOM! Cross lands a beautiful left hook that drops MacDonald. MacDonald tries to recover but Cross is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and MacDonald lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
