The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Harris fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Van Gompel sprawls well initially but Harris persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Harris is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Van Gompel is just riding it out for now. Harris eventually gives up the hold.
We've been hearing good reports from Harris's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Harris shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Van Gompel sprawls well. Van Gompel wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Harris gets slowly back to his feet.

Harris has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Van Gompel uses from the top position.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Garetto creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Dur jumps guard but Garetto stands there with Dur around his waist. Dur gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
