And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Paul Landen!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Paul Tew and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Landen lands with a nice body kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Monster.
Landen is looking to slow Monster down with leg kicks.
Landen clobbers Monster with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Landen fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Monster.
Monster moves out of range as Landen throws a body kick.
Paul Landen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Landen circles away from the clinch attempt.
Monster checks a low kick from Landen.
Landen throws out a leg kick but Monster moves out of range and Landen only half commits.
Landen goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Landen, right into the meat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Monster on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Landen cracks Monster with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

It looks like Pale Monster has been cut.
Landen dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Monster takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Monster misses with a body shot.
Landen thuds his right hand into Monster's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Monster is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Landen lands a nice looking kick to the body. Monster takes a step back to recover.
Oh Monster is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Landen lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Monster up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Landen from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Monster's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Paul Landen!
Paul Landen is the new lightweight champion!
The defeated Pale Monster had this to say: 'Fought a good fight, beat me, that's all there is.'.
