The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carvalho scores with a nice strike.
Kiri tries to score a power double leg takedown but Carvalho sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kiri somewhat.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dostan paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Dostan displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Aruba takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Aruba is rocked!

Dostan drops Aruba with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Aruba looks back up at him and smiles so Dostan waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Oh Aruba is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Aruba gets tackled into the cage by Dostan. Dostan maintains the clinch.

Dostan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Dostan moves into the clinch successfully.
Aruba goes for a takedown in the clinch but Dostan prevents it.

Dostan manages to break the clinch.
Dostan misses with the combination.
Nice body punch from Dostan.
A left lands for Dostan.
Aruba pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Aruba takes one to the side of the head.
Aruba looks up at the clock. Bad move! Dostan lands a right hand from hell, dropping Aruba. Dostan pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ahven will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Ahven lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Haarmann looking to score a takedown here. Ahven is defending well but Haarmann drives through and ends up in Ahven's guard.
Haarmann trying to control the position from guard on top but Ahven is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Haarmann slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Haarmann drops back looking for a leg! Ahven is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ahven manages to kick Haarmann off! Haarmann jumps back into Ahven's guard.
Haarmann pushes down on Ahven's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Ahven pushes Haarmann off looking to stand but Haarmann dives back in and keeps control.

Haarmann wants to work for an arm triangle but Ahven is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Ahven really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Haarmann. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Haarmann wants to pass to mount but Ahven is defending the position.

Haarmann is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ahven wants to get back to his feet.
Ahven is looking to get back to is feet but Haarmann passes into side control.

Haarmann has hold of Ahven's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Ahven tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Haarmann cranks the arm and Ahven screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Ahven, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Fritz Haarmann!
During a confident post fight interview, Fritz Haarmann thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
In defeat, Ahti Ahven stepped up to the mic, saying 'Lucky'.
