The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lodbrok closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Lodbrok lands strikes from half guard.

Lodbrok is looking to advance position but Cruz won't allow it.
Cruz on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Lodbrok slips a nice elbow through Cruz's hands, connecting with Cruz's forehead.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The cut above Jos Cruz's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Lodbrok postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Cruz bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Lodbrok and the fight is over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bandicoot throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bulldog was covering up waiting for the punch and Bandicoot finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Bandicoot drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Bulldog dives on top into guard.
Bulldog in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Bulldog slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Bandicoot had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bulldog defends it easily.

Crash Bandicoot seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Yamashita counters with a perfectly timed head kick, knocking Killerz out cold! Wow, that took some serious skill and not a little luck! Yamashita is taking it in his stride though, strolling around like it's no big deal. What a guy.

Alamo shoots in and bounces Sanchez off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

We've been hearing good reports from Sanchez's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Alamo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Sanchez is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Alamo, into his guard.

After the fight, Johnny Martinez was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
