Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Piston Honda! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Patrick Hale! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hale is looking to clinch. Honda misses with a body shot.
Honda drives through with a takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hale trying to control the position.
Hale is looking for a triangle but Honda pushes his legs off easily.
Honda throws a big right hand that misses. Honda has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Hale escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Honda gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Honda lands a couple of digs. Hale utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Honda postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Honda works over Hale with some ground and pound from guard. Honda throws a big elbow that misses. Honda throws an elbow that misses. Hale uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Honda's guard. Nice move by Hale! Honda is pulling down on Hale's head. It's preventing any offense from Hale, at least for the moment.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Honda looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Honda is working hard here to advance position. Honda is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Hale postures up.

 Piston Honda has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Honda shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Hale manages to get to full guard.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Hale is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Honda trying to control the position from guard on top but Hale is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Hale preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Honda trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Honda with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Hale working a defensive guard here.
Honda trying to control but Hale is working from the bottom. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Honda is looking to work some ground and pound but Hale has wrist control. Honda cracks Hale with a solid left hand.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Honda landing some decent shots from guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Honda pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hale is keeping the position for now. Honda lands a couple of digs.
Hale is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Honda lands a couple of elbows. Honda makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Honda trying to control the position from guard on top but Hale is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Honda scoring with some ground and pound.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hale is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Honda is aware though and is defending well. Hale avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Hale tries to land a sweep but no joy. Honda lands a couple of decent looking shots. Honda working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
 Hale is rocked! Honda knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hale on the ground. Honda chips away with some ground and pound. Hale is still in real trouble! Can Honda finish him? Honda scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Honda is in close to Hale's body, working some short punches and elbows. Hale looks winded! Honda loads up on a big left hand. Hale felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Honda looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Hale can't hide his disappointment, as Honda celebrates the victory.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some wild striking there from Goldman.
A left lands for Goldman. No luck with that takedown attempt from Carney. Carney shoots in looking for a takedown. Goldman tries to sprawl out of it but Carney keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Goldman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Goldman with a body punch. A glancing blow. Goldman jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Goldman feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Carneys jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Carney tries to score a power double leg takedown but Goldman sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Carney somewhat. Sol Goldman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rodney Carney. Carney moves forwards but Goldman connects with a nice, crisp jab.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Carney dives in for a single leg takedown but Goldman sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Goldman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Goldman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Carney throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Goldman's waist but Goldman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Carney off to one side. No luck for Carney with that takedown attempt. Carney goes for a double leg but Goldman avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Goldman continues to drive forward.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Carney keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Goldman's efforts to push away.

Carney dives in and grabs Goldman's left leg, looking for a takedown. Goldman pushes down on Carney's head and hops out. Goldman lands a slapping body shot.
Carney shoots in and drives through. Goldman sprawls well. Carney looks winded! Carney blocks a head kick by Goldman.
Carney tries to move into range but Goldman moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Carney takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Goldman scores with a hook. Carney throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Goldman darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Carney darts in looking for a takedown but Goldman gets double underhooks and turns Carney into the cage. Carney wants a takedown.
Goldman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Carney is trying desperately to land a takedown but Goldman is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Carney. Carney with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Goldman to score with a decent uppercut. Carney takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Carney has a takedown stuffed. The crowd cheers as Goldman lands an impressive looking overhand right. Carney doesn't seem phased though. A decent looking cross lands there for Goldman. Goldman lands with a nice combination. Carney backs away looking to recover. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Carney fails with a takedown attempt.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Goldman stuffs the takedown attempt from Carney. Carney gets slowly back to his feet. Goldman wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Goldman lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Goldman Rushes Carney and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Carney is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Goldman Piles on the pressure and Carney crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
