The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gouken decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Syed avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Gouken.
Gouken frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Syed tries to reverse the position but Gouken maintains control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gouken lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Syed will be OK.

Morris fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Zedong has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Morris closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Zedong did well to prevent Morris getting side control.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
