The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thorevska cracks Reid with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Reid fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Thorevska avoids it really well and circles away.
Lena Thorevska seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thorevska throws a lazy right hand but Reid sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Reid is trying to maintain the position but Thorevska is very close to passing his half guard.

Riggs fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lamar, pushing him back against the cage.

Lamar gets a trip takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Lamar is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Riggs doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lamar.

Lamar controls the position.

Lamar tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Riggs can do anything to dispel that myth.
Riggs wants to control but Lamar postures up.

Lamar wants to stand but Riggs is controlling his arm.
Lamar trying to control the position but Riggs is working away.

Lamar is fighting off a takedown attempt but Riggs is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Lamar to the mat. Lamar regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Riggs has taken the fight to the clinch.

Riggs really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lamar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lamar manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Riggs manages to get himself to full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Riggs is adopting a defensive guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dequantes Lamar will probably get the nod.

Riggs drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lamar pulls his leg out and moves away.

Lamar gets tackled into the cage by Riggs. Riggs maintains the clinch.
Riggs is trying to drag Lamar to the mat but Lamar just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Riggs has hold of one of Lamar's legs. Lamar is fighting the takedown attempt but Riggs gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Lamar bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Riggs's guard.

Lamar missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Riggs wants to sweep but no luck.
Riggs pulls Lamar in close to prevent any damage.
Lamar postures up in Riggs's guard and throws a big left but Riggs blocks it.
Lamar trying to control but Riggs is working from the bottom.
Lamar is really struggling to control Riggs but he's trying to hold on to the position.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dequantes Lamar.

Lamar gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Lamar has his foot on Riggs's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Riggs works his way back into a safe position though.

Lamar is looking to cinch up a triangle. Riggs throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Lamar's body to avoid the submission. Lamar has instead reached around Riggs's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Lamar arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor darts in looking for a takedown but Lucas gets double underhooks and turns Taylor into the cage.

Taylor has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Lucas is trying to keep an underhook but Taylor manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Taylor seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lucas does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Taylor is looking for a kimura but Lucas is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Taylor to get the leverage.
Taylor throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Lucas has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Taylor is working away from the top position though.
Taylor thows a huge punch but Lucas dodges it nicely.
Lucas is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Taylor works his foot free and advances to mount.

Lucas wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Taylor.

Taylor goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Lucas is on top in guard.

Taylor bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lucas's guard.

Taylor moves into full mount!
Taylor prevents Lucas from getting the reversal.
Taylor has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Lucas is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Taylor is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Lucas is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Lucas flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Taylor anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Lucas and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Taylor slips an arm under Lucas chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Taylor has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Taylor is squeezing on Lucas like an anaconda would it's prey. Lucas fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

After the fight, Marcelo Taylor was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

Borem tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sophia sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Borem somewhat.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Borem is defending against the submission attempts here by Sophia.

Sophia is trying to work for a kimura but Borem is defending well.
Borem wants to get back to full guard but Sophia has mounted him!
Borem is trying desperately to improve position.

Sophia is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Borem to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Borem shrugs it off.

Sophia quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Sophia but it's paid off an Borem is forced to tap! Nice work by Sophia.
