Dan Gerous had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 187.0lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Radbod Blank and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gerous closes the distance and clinches up with Jackson, looking for a takedown. Gerous pushes Jackson against the cage but Jackson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Jackson misses with an attempted mid kick.
Jackson takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Jackson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Gerous misses with a takedown attempt - Jackson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Jackson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gerous moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
We've been hearing reports that Gerous has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Jackson on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Gerous. Gerous obviously looking to wear him down.
Gerous tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Jackson counters with a nice body shot.
Gerous tries to bum rush Jackson with a series of wild strikes but Jackson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Gerous is breathing heavily.
Jackson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Jackson cracks Gerous with a right hand to the side of the head.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Jackson has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Gerous tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jackson swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Gerous takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jackson thuds his right hand into Gerous's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Gerous is rocked!
Jackson drops Gerous with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Gerous looks back up at him and smiles so Jackson waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Oh Gerous is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jackson lands a nice leg kick that just misses Gerous's sensitive parts.
Jackson lands a jab to Gerous's midsection.
Jackson lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Gerous head around and knocks him out cold! Jackson hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.

McCormick throws a big shot that misses.
McCormick connects with a body shot that sends Ra's belly button to the back.

Ra stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from McCormick.

I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! McCormick has cracked Ra with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! McCormick lands another huge swinging hook and Ra tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Ra, before McCormick can land any more shots!
