Noel's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Noel was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Santos Goncalves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Goncalves changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Colbert looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Goncalves tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Goncalves has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Colbert is looking to regain half guard here but Goncalves keeps moving and retains side control.

Soto maintains plum control as Silva tries to back straight out! Soto connects with one knee! Two knees! Three, four, five, six...seven unasnwered knees! Silva blocks the eight but eats the ninth - then collapses! Oh the brutality!
