Johnson has chosen plastic gangster as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sonnen blocks a head kick by Johnson.
Johnson throws the kick towards the body but Sonnen avoids it.

Sonnen clinches up against the cage.
Johnson tries to pull guard but Sonnen won't allow it.

Sonnen lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Johnson is looking to improve his position.
Sonnen is thwarting Johnson's attempts to control the position.
Johnson is looking to get back to full guard here but Sonnen has managed to pass to side control instead.
The referee asks Sonnen politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Sonnen prefers to stall for the moment though.
You can see the frustration on Johnson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Johnson looks winded!
Johnson is trying to escape the position but Sonnen is controlling the position.

Johnson is trying to get back to half guard.

Johnson seems a little lost for a moment, as Sonnen dominates the positioning.
Johnson trying to control but Sonnen flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!

Johnson won't enjoy being in this position. Sonnen looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Johnson is tapping - it's over boys! Sonnen picks up the submission victory!

Griffin connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Griffin thows a body shot but no joy.
Griffin tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Jones connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Griffin's hands.
Griffin stuffs the takedown attempt from Jones. Jones gets slowly back to his feet.
Jones shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Griffin but Griffin pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Griffin misses with a jab, cross combination.
Jones fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Griffin manages to avoid it.

Jones ducks under a wild hook from Griffin.
Griffin listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

Jones is rocked!
Griffin cracks Jones's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Jones slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Griffin can do further damage! This one is done, son!

A slapping body kick lands there for Machado.
Machado lands a leg kick that knocks Hennings off balance momentarily.
Machado scores with a nice head shot.
Hennings shoots and misses
and Machado counters with a nice uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hennings shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hennings throws a push kick but Machado slaps the foot to one side.
Machado connects with the punch.
Machado lands with a straight right. Hennings didn't see that one coming.

Hennings is rocked!
Machado drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Hennings's head, knocking him out cold! Machado is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.
