Medeiros feints a jab promting Moura to slip. Medeiros then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Moura slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

It looks like Mauricio Moura has been cut.
Moura closes the distance and clinches up with Medeiros , looking for a takedown. Moura pushes Medeiros against the cage but Medeiros circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Moura fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Medeiros sprawls well initially but Moura persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Medeiros wants to get back to his feet.
Medeiros on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Medeiros tries to get out of the position.

Medeiros is defending against the submission attempts here by Moura.

Moura is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Medeiros is just riding it out for now. Moura eventually gives up the hold.

Nogueira looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Nogueira gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Gracie controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Nogueira pulls Gracie in close to prevent any damage.

Gracie has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Nogueira is proving hard to escape from.

We're going to have a standup here because Royler Gracie wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Nogueira has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

It looks like it's working - Loveladdy slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Johnson displaying calm under pressure there.

Loveladdy fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Johnson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Johnson looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

It looks like Jermain Johnson has been cut.

Loveladdy drops Johnson with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Johnson looks back up at him and smiles so Loveladdy waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Loveladdy looks to land a left hand but Johnson moved out of range nicely.
Oh Johnson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Johnson switches off momentarily and Loveladdy cracks him with a monster right hand! Johnson topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Loveladdy dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Loveladdy!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Brandon Loveladdy!
In his post fight interview, Brandon Loveladdy started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
